Biography: Paul Turek, MD, FACS, FRSM
Husband, father, and longboard surfer, Dr. Paul Turek is the world’s leading innovator in male reproductive health. Dr. Turek is founder and director of The Turek Clinics, located in Los Angeles and San Francisco. The practices are “clinical homes for men,” designed to provide state of the art medical treatment to men across the globe. Dr. Turek is a leader in the field, and has been invited to provide critical guidance at The White House and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). A former Professor and Endowed Chair at the University of California San Francisco, Dr. Turek has pioneered innovative techniques for treating male infertility; including Testicular Mapping (also known as Sperm Mapping or FNA Mapping) a modern approach to microdissection — offering training and certification to peers who seek to perfect the technique — and has helped to popularize the No-Scalpel Vasectomy. Dr. Turek has published some of the highest success rates worldwide for vasectomy reversals, even in “older” vasectomies. He sits on the board of several high-profile organizations and is an advisor to the NIH, The White House, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Men’s Health Network, among others. A firm believer in giving back, he donates his time to several worthy causes, including a free clinic for the working uninsured that he helped co-found. In addition to being one of the most popular doctors on online, Dr. Turek blogs weekly about timely medical issues, solutions and innovations at Turek On Men’s Health.
